‘Must See’ Places in Vietnam

Vietnam is a beautiful country full of history, culture, temples, palaces and greenery. It has quickly become a top tourist destination drawing a lot of travelers from around the globe on an annual basis.

To plan a trip to this glorious country would require you to have a valid passport and you would also need to visit the Vietnam embassy to get a visitor’s visa, which would give you thirty days to explore all that this impressive area has to offer. Once you have your visa organised and your flights booked, the following are some beautiful destinations that you should consider visiting.

Hue

Hue is located in the central area of the country, set on the banks of a river; this area is rich in history and home to an impressive castle and purple city. The architecture is breathtaking and presents a real opportunity to soak up some of the history dating back centuries.

Sapa

Sapa is located in the north west of the country. It is a traditional market town and is bordered by green hills and mountains, which makes it an outdoor adventure seekers paradise. This area is very popular with trekkers and walkers and once you make your way to the top of one of these mountains, you will be mesmerized at the spectacular views that unfold in front of you.

Hanoi

Hanoi is the second largest city and is the most visited city in Vietnam. Here you can enjoy affordable prices for accommodation and in shops. The city is home to an old quarter, which is a great opportunity if you’re into history and culture. In Hanoi, there are many museums you can discover. You can also explore many of the beautiful lakes.

While most of the locals depend on motorcycles to get around, the safest mode of transport for you as a tourist to get around is public transport, as the number of road accidents in Vietnam is quite high. So, be aware and keep yourself safe and explore all that this beautiful city has to offer.

Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City is a bustling business hub, but also a very popular stop for visitors looking for some retail therapy. There are also a number of top restaurants and bars in the area, where you can try sampling some of the local cuisine.

Halong Bay

Once you reach Halong Bay, you will be mesmerized by the crystal clear waters and incredible rock formations. It’s recommended to hire a boat for the day and explore the many small islands that surround the bay. Many tourists swim in the clear waters, enjoying the underwater life and exploring each rock formation close up.

Dahat

Finally, there is Dahat, another very popular tourist destination in Vietnam. This area is famous for its towering pine trees and plenty of natural beauty. It’s here where you will find a host of restaurants and a thriving nightlife.
